In June this year, we turned 10 years old at Children of Cambodia! We held an online fundraiser to celebrate and we were overwhelmed with the generosity of our supporters. We were able to raise $5500.
In 2010 we committed to a small and modest project to build a water well at Phum O Primary School. In that same year, we went on to support 653 students at that school ensuring all children had access to the compulsory uniform, pencils and exercise books to attend school.
Our presence became well known throughout the community and we gradually grew. 10 years later we can now proudly say that in 2020 we support 10 Primary Schools and 3419 students.
Over the past ten years we have been able to work with the communities including village leaders, principles, teachers and parents to identify the additional needs within these schools. We have been able to fund major capital works at the schools including classrooms, paving, toilet blocks and library supplies.
We are forever grateful to all of our supporters that make regular donations and attend our fundraising events. And of course, to all the volunteers that have come over to Cambodia and helped us on our trips. Without you, none of this would be possible.
With the $5500 raised we will be able to supply four entire schools for the next year with books, pencils and uniforms. We thank you again for your generosity!
